Regeneration, 2026
Mini Print LA, Los Angeles Printmaking Society (LAPS)
The sense of urgency in response to the injustices that surround us can feel debilitating. The systems are broken and we need to create new ones that serve the most people. When thinking about the present moment, nature is a great teacher in the ways that it cycles; it breaks down and builds back again.
Mushrooms are often associated with death and decay, but serve the most essential function of restoration and regeneration. I was inspired to linocut and print a mushroom, which over three prints evolves with the addition of pastel. The fixed form of the mushroom represents community and collective activism and the pastel represents their regenerative qualities.

This piece represents the way people attach meaning to objects, forming associations between them and the people, places, and emotions from a memory. It is coded to the viewer, who may have their own unique associations with the objects.
Each panel, representing a moment, is framed with collaged materials that include event wristbands, a paper bag, and a matchbook. Each column, representing a day, is connected and suspended with ribbon.

Stop Motion, Expressive Typography
My childhood dog Bandit passed away in July 2020 after nearly 15 years with us. I channeled my grief and gratitude for her into this stop motion piece.
