Background
The Oklahoma City Thunder produces printed player cards of each roster player for the NBA season. These are half letter size collectable cards that are given away to fans.
Strategy
The 2021–2022 player cards were inspired by the nostalgia of classic sports trading cards. This was combined with Thunder brand guidelines and the seasonal campaign.
By establishing a relationship between the front and the back of the card as you turn it over, it remains rooted in a nostalgic physical world even when displayed in a digital space.
